Where were you born and where do you live now?
I'm born in Tournai, Belgium and raised in a little village called "Quevaucamps" (funny name right?). Nowadays I'm living in Brussels.
How old are you?
I'm 23 years old.
When did you first start designing & illustrating?
Well during my childhood I did a lot of drawings, and my mom still has a few of them. I always enjoy looking at them, so naïve and full of memories. But my first real illustration was in my first year in a graphic design school in Namur (Belgium).
"...It's just me on a paper. So let's say a bit weird & colourful."
How would you describe your work?
That's a tough one. I don't really know how to describe it, it's just me on a paper. So let's say a bit weird & colourful. I try to let people imagine what my drawings can be, what their mind thinks it is.
Most of the time, I don't know what I'm going to draw, I just do lines and shapes, then erase, and do it again, moving pieces by pieces, and finally when I think it's done, I'm happy.
Is it true that you use a lot of MS Paint to create your work?
Haha, that's just a misunderstanding. I sent an e-mail to the blog that featured me, and what I said is: "I have used a lot of MS Paint during my childhood and so I try to continue using it."
But what I have tried to say is that even now if my work has become more complicated, I still like to keep it simple, using only a few elements.
So, yes the mistake was mine. My bad English is responsible for this! So to put an end to this, I will say the truth: I'm using Photoshop and Illustrator! And sorry for the blog in question... my bad!
What are some of your major influences?
Tumblr, the little details in life, design, and the way I remember the shapes of objects just by imagining them.
Are there any artists you particular draw from?
There are too many to mention, really.
What's the creative scene like in Brussels?
There are some great museums and a few little galleries. Every weekend there is a "vernissage" (I think the english world for this is "preview"), but it's hard to be seen if you are not already a bit famous.
Who is a dream client you would love to work with?
I love every client! No seriously, I would like to work for a clothing company one day.
What's a typical day for you?
Wake up early. Tea. Breakfast. Cigarette. Watching the internet. and then I begin Drawing. I'll usually work non-stop on my drawings unless I can't find any good ideas then I'll just move onto doing other normal stuff.
My favourite band right now is... Mount Kimbie.
The last good movie I saw was... Laurence anyways by Xavier Dolan.
I hate it when someone is... late for appointment or waitin' for someone to answer my mails, or understand that I send a mail with a English sentence that wouldn't mean what I want... really frustrating.
I wish I could live... from my illustration.
After a long hard days work I like to unwind by... watching series, have a good meal and sleep well.
